Why does any business put an email address on its website if they don't intend to answer the emails?!?

Is that rude, retarded, or both?

I know... even if they do reply it seems it's aways refering you to call a service rep... or that the reply is generated by a computer that matches your question to some standard answers... it can be pretty lame at times... two thumbs up on that question!!!
Reply:Good question. I suppose it looks the company look better if they have a way to communicate but dont use it rather than have no way of communication at all. Give it time this could also be a sign that they get a lot of mail. Report Abuse

Reply:prabably a policy that they have to abide by i mean would you do buiness with someone if they didn't have a way of reaching them
Reply:Both rude and unbusinesslike ('retarded' means something quite different). I suppose they start out with the best of intentions but then can't keep the pace. That's not a business I would want to deal with.

My experience is that most do answer their emails and one can pretty much judge from how they do so what they are going to be like to do business with.
Reply:Just to show that they are trying to keep up with the times.
Reply:dont know
Reply:That depends - did you send them a rude or retarded email?
Reply:just to let you know that you can reach them, they're just being polite and they are probably too busy to sit at the computer all day to answer everyone's emails.
Reply:Makes them LOOK legit! Even if they are not...
