Reply:The form letter above is a great generic response to decline any proposal...However, if your motivation for turning someone down is more of a point of negotiation for something better...

Consider carefuly what your goal is in declining any particular offer. Email, though the way of the world today, is still a pretty impersonal device - especially in an offer/counter offer type of negotiation.

If you have a contact within the organization you can call or meet with in person to discuss the reasons for your choice to decline a proposal this may help you keep from burning any bridges or to negotiate for a deal that better suits your company's needs and wants for any particular project.

Through further negotiation if you continue to reach the proverbial impasse, keep it short, to the point and respectfully decline any offers that don't appeal to you with out making it personal. This is something you can only do with tact in a personal venue - If my services were declined with just an email I have to say, I would feel sort of snubbed...but this may be just what you want the result to be.

Best of Luck!
Reply:One sentence, thanks but no thanks...good luck...
